So, You Need a Web site?
What you need, why you need it, and how it works:

If you don't have a web site, that's ok, you've come to the right place. Seamless can provide all three of the basics you need to have a web site. In case you are still new to the idea of having your own site those three are as follows:

1) The web site - The site itself is nothing more than a collection of files that work together to make up what you see in your browser window as you surf the net. The primary files for your site's pages are the code, these are usually html files, but could also be php, asp, pearl, XHTML or other advanced scripts. The code determines text, links, keywords for search tools like Google, and behavior of components in your site. In addition to code your site will use graphic files like jpegs, gifs or animated gifs. Graphic files can be pictures or logos, but they also make up the graphic components of a site. For instance, the this page uses this graphic, ,repeated over and over to create the sharp-looking right edge. A site might also use documents to communicate information. These might include word docs, pdfs, or excel spreadsheets. These docs are called upon by links built into your site. A web site's extensiveness is limited only by your creativity. Sites can provide surfers with downloadable applications like screen savers or music files. In a nutshell, that's a web page; a collection of the files that make up the site, including the code that calls upon and organizes all of those files.

Seamless designs all original sites at $52/hr. Of course, the question for a newcomer becomes so how many hours of work will my site take. It's tough to say, it really depends on what you want out of your site.

*Text for sites can often be extracted from business plans.

2) Hosting - Every web site needs a home. The term "host" refers to the location where the aforementioned files are actually located. Web site files are organized and kept on servers all over the world. Web browsers access these servers and read the code in order to display the site. Seamless offers a hosting package.

3) Domain Name - Finally, a web site needs an address right? The domain name for this site is seamless-design.com, for example. Domain names are purchased, then registered. Once a domain name is registered it can be pointed to the server on which the files for the related site are located. Registration and pointing of a domain name allows web browsers to find the files for a web site by placing the domain name in the address bar of the browser window. This all sounds a little complicated, right? Don't worry about it Seamless can handle this for you. We will purchase, register, and point a domain name for your site, and it's included in the design fee!
